Hakfest / Mr. Bardolph: I do believe that this is the right place to upload it (though I have also uploaded it to flickr.) It is now that I think back to the other great artists who believed in sending a message of meaning rather than a well framed work of art without any. While your critique is more negative than helpful, I appreciate you're willingness to speak your mind in regards to my photograph. I suppose the framing for this particular image could have been better, however my failure to get that perfect shot does not mean that it should be hidden from the public. However, for you I will personally see to it that this image will go up in my next art show to see how many others agree with you.
There is an ongoing battle over the very fine line between what constitutes "art" and what does not, in my opinion perhaps it should be left to the artist of the work to decide, and as my name suggests; art is everywhere.
Finally, I want to wish you the best of luck with your competitive gaming endeavors!
thanks for the critique? Well I decided not to show the person who was sitting next to the sign for two reasons. One: I feel as though having the sign without the person who made it gives it more of a symbolic meaning, as in the sign could be applicable to any number of people who are facing a similar experience during this time of economic struggle in the U.S and many other parts of the world. My second reason for not including the man's face was because he requested for only his sign to appear. I wanted to honor his request. In terms of framing, I could care less, I had little time to take the picture and I feel as though the content is more important than the way in which the image was framed.
Sounds like your photo is better suited on flickr then an art website then. If you don't care about how your shot is framed, is this the right place to upload it?
